The Thrift Store Where Every Purchase Stocks a Food Pantry

Filed under:

I love a good thrift store. I love it even more when the whole thing exists to help people — and that’s exactly what this one does: every donation and purchase goes toward funding their community food pantry.

The details you need: shopping hours are Thursday–Saturday, 10am–2pm, but here’s the part I love — the donation drop is open anytime. There’s a bin around back where you can leave donations even when they’re closed. No excuses for that pile in your garage.

Inside, the pricing is genuinely great (especially with what some thrift stores are charging lately), and there’s a rotating color-tag sale — the day we went, yellow tags were 50% off. The women’s section is big; there’s also men’s clothing, swim, sheets, toys, and books.

Our haul: a dress, a shirt, a men’s shirt, two pairs of men’s shorts, a couple of toys for our son, a pair of women’s shoes, and a book — $33.80 for all of it. And every dollar went to feeding neighbors.

Shop here, donate here, or both. This is what “hidden gem” actually means.
