We finally made it back to Floridino’s on US-27, and I have one big takeaway: if you haven’t been, you’re missing out.
It’s a true mom-and-pop Italian place with a bar area, a cozy dining room, and outdoor patio seating — and if you’re there on a nice evening, sit outside. We caught a gorgeous sunset over dinner and went back out afterward just to watch it a little longer.
The menu is big — pizza and pasta, of course, but a whole lineup of appetizers and desserts too. We started with Mikey’s Famous Pizza Muffins: ham, mozzarella, and ground beef, served hot and fresh with a marinara that’s genuinely amazing. You can order six or twelve. We got six because there are only three of us. We should have gotten twelve. Lesson learned.
Our son’s spaghetti and meatballs came out as a plate big enough to make me jealous — I stole a couple bites and regretted nothing. And then there was the ravioli pizza, the thing I’d been most excited to try. Full honesty (because that’s how we do things here): the baked noodles get crunchy, and crunchy noodles just aren’t my thing. But Robert and our son devoured it and declared it a winner — so call it a family split decision, and try it yourself to break the tie.
We left full, happy, and already planning the next visit. Support your local mom-and-pop spots — this one’s earned it.
